Position Summary

Under the supervision of the evening team leader and the Operations Manager, the painter is responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal parts according to Peinture ALRO’s quality standards, including AAMA 2604 and 2605 requirements, as well as internal procedures for preparation, application, and curing.

The painter ensures the quality, cleanliness, and consistency of the work while adhering to workplace health and safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare parts before painting (hanging, visual inspection, blowing, cleaning).
  • Set up and operate electrostatic powder coating equipment.
  • Perform color changes according to established procedures, including equipment cleaning.
  • Check the quality of the application (film thickness, uniformity, appearance, absence of defects).
  • Ensure the proper functioning of booths, spray guns, and feeding systems.
  • Complete production sheets and forms (color codes, quantities, POs, etc.).
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the safe handling of parts (hanging/unhanging).
  • Participate in general maintenance and 5S practices in the paint area.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety standards (wearing PPE, handling powders, etc.)

Skills and Requirements

  • Experience in powder coating (a significant asset).
  • Knowledge of curing processes and metals.
  • Attention to detail and meticulous execution.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently.

Working conditions

  • Schedule: Evening shift (e.g., Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. or as per established schedule).
  • Work location: Chambly.
  • Salary: Based on experience.
